Build New Component - Step 3

The remaining steps in the Component Builder Wizard are optional for the component creation process and can be performed at a later date using the options available from the Component Manager.

You can choose to click Finish now to complete the component or define connect points in for the component and proceed.

For this exercise, you will define connect points for the Suction and Discharge ports of the pump.

Setting	Description
Name	Type the name of the new connect point.
Display Label	The Display Label defined here will display as a floating tooltip when attempting to connect to it in the P&ID.
Add	Click Add to add the connect point to the new component. Select a point on the component and define the direction of the flow. Note: The Add button is disabled until you enter a value in the Name field.
Remove	Select an existing connect point and click Remove to delete it.
Edit	Select a connection name from the list and click Edit to modify its properties and/or location and direction.
Details	Displays additional properties for the connect point name in the window.

To define the connect points:

Type the connect point name in the Name field.
Click Add.
Note: The Add button is disabled until you enter a value in the Name field.
Pick the desired point on the component for the connect point.
Use the mouse to orient the flow direction.
When finished defining connect points, click Next to continue or Back to review the previous step.
